Hey everyone, and I have been thinking about a new little thing we could do as a group for Canada. It’s not a contest, so you can take as long as you want to find the right image, or go out and take one, or draw one of your favourite place, point is, this will really have no deadline to it.

The focus of this is your home town. Please send us a link of the image you think best describes the place you live. We would also like a small entry to go with the image for the group, explaining how your home makes you feel, why you love it where you are, and what makes it unique to yourself. As was said before, there is no deadline for this, and there is no right or wrong, but plesae follow DA rules.

We would like to ask for one entry per group member, it’s only fair as many of us do live in the same towns or city’s. Each entry will be posted on the group, and featured in the journal as they come in. Remember, it’s not a contest, so don’t rush, make it how you want it, and you like it as it’s really a self-expression of your home town.

Just a side note, the image or drawing doesn’t have to be new, it could be something you took years ago, or something you took late week. So look through all those pictures or drawings, find the one that closest to your heart, send it in with a small explanation, short story of the photo, or poem as to why you love your home so much.

We will still be accepting regular club entries as well, so please let us know if you would like your submission to be a part of this home town event. Rules for submitting can be seen further down in the journal.

Alright my fellow club members! It’s the time to have been waiting for! It’s time to announce the winners of the contest!
So a small recap of the Prizes first:

~ All three place holders will be featured in the club for next little while.

So after a week of talking, and thinking, a few cups of tea/coffee laters, we & have decided that for first place is, the winner of Journal features and a $30 gift basket ….

Alright fellow group members the contest has come to an end now! Thanks to the idea of having an extended deadline, we now have enough entries to make a good contest! SO for the next week myself and will be looking over every entry carefully and talking with each other with our thoughts.

The contest theme that had the most votes was - Quirky Places in Canada

Since it is the holiday season, and everyone is busy, the contest will run until January 11th - Updated to February 1st! No more submissions will be accepted after 11:59 pm EST Feb. 1

This should be enough time for people to get plenty of images, or even hand drawn renderings of the Quirky place you passed through or visited.

Hello Club members! We the admin’s thought the topic might need a bit of explanation. At first glace the topic seems as if it just has to be a town or place, but maybe it will help if we clarify that a bit.

The topic is still very much the same, but more down to home. So if you have a quirky thing about your town that no one really see’s, bring it to light. If you have a cute little quirky shop in your town that you know is one a kind, bring it to light. Surely every person in this group lives some place close to a quirk about their town.

So the topic is more down home. Hopefully this will get more people to enter, and it doesn’t have to be a picture, it could be a drawing of this place. So get out there and find your town’s quirk!!

Alright, so it seems no one else really wants to vote, so I have a topic picked for the upcoming contest.

Quirky Places in Canada will be this contests topic.

So, since it is so close to Christmas, and many people won't be around, or logged on everyday like some would like to be (myself included with long days at work, and all that shopping….) Anyway, since most people will be traveling this season, this contest will run throughout Christmas, and New years until January 11th.

This should be enough time for people to get plenty of images, or even hand drawn renderings of the Quirky place you passed through or visited.
